Kontrapunkt organizes the Digital Media Conference 2016

The world has become digital and the digital world has been mobile for a long time – this is well known by the Playboy Magazine as well as Hamburg’s famous newspaper BILD, the local commerce and the City of Hamburg. In the past week representatives of large media companies and the eBusiness industry discussed the chances and challenges of the digital transformation at the Digital Media Conference (DMC). The quintessence: the mobile digital change is omnipresent and requires the willingness to change in many areas. Kontrapunkt organized the conference and the following evening event for about 130 participants at the former main customs office located in the harbor of Hamburg.

Whether in the world of media, in public space or in retail – the digitalization has found its way into society. People purchase their interior by phone while being on the train, traffic is regulated by big data real-time evaluation and classical newspaper publishers have become multi-channel providers long ago. The focal point of the DMC was mainly an exchange of experiences between the different players. Amongst which were the delegation of the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg for Media, Dr Carsten Brosda, the vice-president of the Federal Association of Digital Economy (BVDW e. V.), Thorben Fasching as well as representatives of Axel Springer, DuMont, Google and Playboy Magazine.

The conference topic also found an equal platform aside the stage: Kontrapunkt developed an exhibition and networking area which invited participants to experience the digital change in a playful way and a descent into virtual realities. Host of the Digital Media Conference, which took place in Hamburg for the third time, was the company Cassini Consulting.
