The annual GQ Men of the Year Awards no doubt is one of the most glamorous items on the German event calendar that draws the attention of the media like no other event. For the fourth time Kontrapunkt was one of the agencies engaged to stage last week’s ceremony for the German men’s style magazine GQ Gentlemen’s Quarterly published by Condé Nast. National and international celebrities the likes of Adrien Brody, Lenny Kravitz or Miroslav Klose clearly enjoyed themselves at Komische Oper Berlin.

Simultaneously and just a short walk away, the Publishers’ Night hosted by Verband Deutscher Zeitschriftenverleger (VDZ) [German Association of News Magazine Publishers] took place – for the ninth time under the aegis of Kontrapunkt in collaboration with its partner agency, Beckoffice. Outstanding personalities from politics, business and media were honoured, among them Roman Herzog, former Federal President  as well as the State Presidents of the Baltic States, Dalia Grybauskaite, Toomas Hendrik Ilves and Andris Bērziņš. Directed by Kontrapunkt, more than 600 well-known representatives from the newspaper industry debated the future of print media at the two-day Publishers’ Summit.

While the media stars celebrated in Berlin, the FAMAB AWARD in Essen saw the stars of the event industry gather to honour the most exciting projects of 2014. Kontrapunkt was one of the sponsors and its self-developed participant management system, konquadrat, ensured a smooth and successful kick-start of the event.
