After 162 days the Horticultural Expo in Beijing closed its doors on 07th October. The Expo ended with a great success for our client the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture: Pavilion and exhibition were rewarded with a Grand Award from the Expo jury.

The number of visitors also exceeded all expectations. Instead of the expected 800,000, 1.3 million guests visited the pavillon. This put the German exhibition behind the Chinese pavilion in second place in the visitors’ favour.

For Kontrapunkt an exciting time in China ends. The exhibition has already been dismantled and is on its way back to Hamburg in several sea containers. Other parts of the exhibition remain in China for sustainable use. A particularly beautiful final moment was the handover of exhibition elements and toys from the German pavilion to “Liu Binburg Primary School” in Yanqing/China.

Last but not least, our Expo mascot “Sammi” packed his suitcases, said goodbye to Beijing with a final “再见”.
